Sunday Afternoon

Children’s Music (Room 101) During the school year children gather on Sunday afternoons for a time of music, movement, and praise. These groups will periodically participate in Sunday morning Worship.

K-6^th grade 3:30-4pm (two different times offered)

Preschool 4-4:30pm

K-6^th grade 4:30-5pm

Liturgical Dance (Worship Center) Students 2^nd grade – Sr. High gather to worship God through music and movement.  Rehearsals are scheduled around worship appearances. Contact Merry Howard or Colleen Driggers for additional information.

PBJ Powered By Jesus is the Youth Praise Team. They rehearse on Sunday afternoons under the direction of Randy Mitchell.  Contact the Director of Youth, Chuck Church, for additional information.
 

Youth Group Wylie UMC Youth (Jr. High - Sr. High) usually meet from 6-8pm Sunday evenings at the church for fellowship, fun and the word.

Wednesday Evenings

4:30-5:15pm 5^th-8^th Grade Hand Bells (Room 101) open to all students and is under the direction of Colleen Driggers.  

5:15-6pm 9^th-12^th Grade Hand Bells (Room 101) open to all students and is under the direction of Colleen Driggers.  

6-7pm Pastor’s Bible Study (Room 205) Join the Pastor to study the Scripture lesson(s) for the coming Sunday’s worship service.

6:15-7pm Adult Hand Bells (Room 101) The Adult Hand Bell choir is under the direction of Scott Wilson. Contact Scott Wilson.

7-8:30pm Youth Small Groups (Room 201) meet on Wednesday Nights from 7-8:30pm. There are individual groups for high school and middle school students to share, discuss and grow with one another.

7-8:30pm Chancel Choir (Room 101) The Chancel Choir enjoys preparation and sharing music that enables the entire congregation to feel the presence of God in our midst as we worship together. The Chancel Choir normally presents their anthem or other special music at the 9:30 worship service.  For more information, contact Scott Wilson.
 

Other Adult Groups

11:30-1pm   39er’s Monthly Lunch (Room 204) A time for mature adults desiring fellowship while sharing lunch. Meets the second Wednesday of each month.

7-9pm Filthy Rags Praise Team Meets Every Thursday to rehearse for Sunday Worship. Contact Scott Wilson for additional information.

Women’s Classes and Ministries

Strand of Pearls (Room 205) Year round Bible Study group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm. For more info, call the church office.
 
Friday Morning Ladies Study (Room 203) 9:30-11am. Meets during the school year and includes women of all ages. Child care is available. For more information, contact the church office.
 

United Methodist Women (UMW) - (Room 204) Women whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice.  See church calendar for next meeting.

Global Gals meet monthly for dinner-out to enjoy international cuisine, and  fellowship, while supporting the mission of Wylie UMW and the local and global ministries of the church. Please contact Debbie Brown at debbie.k.brown@pepsico.com

Men’s Classes

True Grit Men's Bible Studies

True Grit Ministry is designed to give men an opportunity to study God's Word with

other men and apply it to their lives. 

Thursday Morning group meets at WUMC in Room 101 from 5:30-6:30am.

True Grit Saturday Morning group meets at Shoemaker and Hardt in Wylie (105 N. Ballard) at 6am.  For more info contact Cary at ckbetts@msn.com.

Support Groups

Stephen Ministry Lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenges. If you would like a Stephen Minister please contact the church office. All referrals and information are kept confidential.
 

The Compassionate Friends is a place for those who have experienced the death of a child of any age. We meet in room 204, on the third Tuesday of each month (Except December) 7-9pm. For more information, call Cathy at 972-736-6513.
